My daily grace
before dinner
included
"god is good...
god is great..."
As a child
I would wonder about
the church's assertion that
god is watching everyone
all the time...

I tried to picture
an oversized eye spread
around the world, but failed
to see how an iris could
cover a spherical object...
I began to wonder
why god saved some
and not others...

the church replied
"He can't save everyone
all the time"
and then I began to wonder...
"What's so Great about
him anyway?"
